Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. Her name is associated with the start of contemporary research on children's memory and eyewitness testimony, as well as the application of child witnesses within court settings. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer, received many grants and was awarded several international and national prizes. She has collaborated with various organizations and government officials across the globe on policy as well as research on child victims within the legal system. She serves as consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. Professor Goodman is a member in a variety of professional associations, including the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is also a member of Psychonomics Society as well as the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was head of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development Practice Division and the Society for Child Policy American Psychology Law Society, and Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
